New Work
Kelley Simons Syed is a New York–based multidisciplinary artist and educator whose practice explores the intersections of collective memory, physiological resilience, and the visceral bond between the human form and the natural world. Using a diverse formal language that includes painting, natural photographic processes, and large-scale installation, Simons Syed transmutes everyday materials into complex, stratified works. She has been awarded Studio Residencies at Harlem Art Crawl and TransBorderArt on Governors Island, a Delaware Valley Arts Alliance Individual Artist Fellowship, and has been shown in galleries and institutions across the United States. Simons Syed is also the visionary behind the limited-edition artist’s book, 25 Tips for Survival in a Pandemic, a work that distills the precarity of the global moment into a tangible narrative of humor and endurance.
