Fall Anthotypes
All Ages
Celebrate the colors of autumn while exploring one of the most poetic, eco-friendly photographic processes: the anthotype. Using plant-based dyes and sunlight, participants will learn how to create images that emerge slowly and beautifully—only to fade again, reminding us of the cycles of nature and memory.
This hands-on workshop introduces the history of anthotypes as well as their contemporary potential. We’ll prepare emulsions from herbal teas and other natural pigments, coat watercolor paper, and experiment with layering leaves, plants, and found materials beneath plexiglass plates to create delicate, sun-developed prints.
The workshop can be offered either as a one-time session introducing the process with a focus on simple, striking compositions; or three-day series (1 hour per session) to allow for experimentation, layering, and multiple exposures.
Suggested Pricing:
* One-Time Workshop (1.5 hrs): $35–$55 per person
* Three-Day Class (3 hrs total): $75–$125 per person
All supplies are provided, and no prior experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to play with light, plants, and time. Participants will leave with their own one-of-a-kind sun prints and a deeper appreciation for the ways art and nature intertwine.

Along the way, they’ll explore color mixing, texture, and form while practicing patience, precision, and playfulness.
