The Aftermath of September 11
In this series of drawings entitled Wholesome Stories of Busy, Independent Children, I’ve depicted a world where my rabid post-911 anxieties have invaded my childhood memories.  Schoolyard brutalities play out in a barren environment with no adults; and science, technology and nature have created an absence of humanity. Cold war fears from the 60s and 70s combine with snippets from the violent and often bizarre media coverage of the day to create images that reveal the fear, confusion, and grief we New Yorkers felt in the wake of this terrible event.
