In 2022, I created on a series of 25 drawings and paintings entitled 25 Tips for Surviving a Pandemic. Inspired by similar pamphlets issued by the US government in the 1960’s on how to survive a nuclear attack, these drawings explore my traumatic experience of the pandemic, and reflect the futility and comedy of my measures to combat the virus. This work references cold war era civil defense materials that communicate actionable, yet completely pointless guidance for surviving the unsurvivable. I’ve collected these images into a limited edition artists book called A Guide: 25 Tips for Surviving a Pandemic, which will be published later this year.
